drawing Caricatures for eight hours

Today I was at Edmonton's Valley Zoo drawing Caricatures for eight hours.  there were a lot of people and what a nice hot (30*C) day!  I wish that I had the time to take a photo of all the caricatures - there were some great ones today.

I'll be at Edmonton Valley Zoo drawing caricatures - Free Admission Day at the Edmonton Valley Zoo

Date: Sunday September 25, 2011 Time: 10am-6pm September 25th, 2011 will once again mark the City of Edmonton’s annual Free Admission Day Celebrations and it will be the perfect opportunity to visit the beautiful Edmonton Valley Zoo!

Come “Get Closer” and witness amazing animal enrichments as we provide stimulating surprises to a selection of animals. Peter and Mary will greet you at the front entrance with some amazing live music. 

As you stroll through the zoo be sure to stop by for a caricature, listen to educational animal talks, see Fleasha and her one of a kind Flea Circus or make a neat take home craft!

Be sure to try Painting Like Lucy or perfect your wallaby bouncing skills in a Giant Inflatable!

There will also be amazing animal encounters, face painting, sidewalk art, and a variety of other surprises throughout the day.

At Scona Cycle I finally accomplished the bike to put up on the window along with the wording.  I like it and think it looks kinda cool!

I thought for sure I could get it done for Saturday but I got caught up with family stuff and a face painting event at Aldergrove for "Community League day".  

At Aldergrove for "Community League day" there was Face Painting, a Jumpy Thing, Games, Hot Dogs/snacks and a Big Bin event... a lot of fun and sold a few additional Community League memberships too.

What a joy it was to draw at the Edmonton UHaul Employee Health Fair.

Some days I have to pinch myself that I get to do caricatures and chat with people for a living.

Scona Cycle windows

Edmonton's Scona Cycle Windows.  This Window art was tricky with the security bars on the windows but,

"where there's a will, there's a way!"

A mural done for the Indoor Play Area at City of Edmonton's Terwilleger Recreation Centre.

The Indoor Play Area has a stage that had blank walls. Our hope is by adding these characters that are performing and play acting, that it will give the kids the idea to do the same!

You can only see part of the mural from the hallway windows which is a bit of a shame. My personal favourites are the little boy on the moon and "Canadian Girl"!

Of course the characters and mural layout was designed by me as well as the painting of it.

Caricatures at The Hanger at Fort Edmonton

It was nice to be asked back again this year to the company party at The Hanger in Fort Edmonton today.  It was also so nice to see some familiar, friendly faces was a bonus!  I'm not sure who had more fun, these folks or me?!

 

Window Painting - Western GMC's 2011 Model Year Wrap Up

Flourescent yellow and orange window paint makes Western GMC's windows pretty spectacular! Everything shown here on the windows has been painted by me in the past while. An enjoyable place to go paint at.

 

A beautiful evening to sit out on the patio and do caricatures at a wedding reception. Not everyone wants to dance or dance every song so caricatures are a popular addition to the wedding reception.

These girls were such a blast and talk about cute!

Caricatures at a fundraising event for The Stollery Children’s Hospital at Jox Sports Bar & Grill. These girls were such a blast and talk about cute! When they walked up and said they wanted a caricature, I could hardly contain myself because I could see instantly that they had such pizzaz that it was going to be fun drawing them.
