MORE Paintings for Sale

I believe I've embraced a new philosophy when it comes to painting. Should a painting look just like a photo, I don’t think so. Shouldn't you see the brush strokes. There’s something to be said for knowing it was done by hand.

It’s such a joy to pick your paint brush and see what comes about. It’s really interesting to try different stuff. Does an artist need just one style? I don’t think so!

Finishing up Caricatures at The Grey Nuns

I was back to finish up caricatures for the staff in one of the departments at The Grey Nuns. This was one of my favourites for sure! It was nice to go back in and see lots of friendly, familiar faces!

So now they are going to photocopy, reduce them a bit and put them in small frames to hang up in their staff room. Should be a fun looking wall.

Interesting Things People Do With My Caricatures

I popped in at The Misericordia Hospital and they showed me one more thing they did with my caricatures …

personalized locker labels! Not only will they hang in their main hallway but they their lockers. It looked pretty neat all hanging together like that. It's great that they're having so much fun with it. A fun thing would be to see one of the lady's faces when she comes back from holidays and sees her caricature on her locker ( I did it from a photo of those who were away on holidays and the rest were done there at the hospital ).

Caricatures for a unit at The Grey Nuns Hospital

This past week I was asked to come in to do caricatures for a unit at The Grey Nuns as part of their staff moral initiative.

This team are an important one - they sterilise all the surgical equipment. I was able to go in during the work day, although I had to be there by 7:15 a.m. mind you! I almost felt like I was working a regular work day like everyone else. I was there early to be able to hit the tail end of the night shift then get the later shift.

It was a really enjoyable day. Nice people.

Caricatures at The Grey Nuns Hospital

The Grey Nuns Hospital put on a Klondike Breakfast this week and asked me to draw caricatures. What a positive, friendly group of people! I was glad that I was able to draw a number of volunteers that happened to be there. It always feels good to be able to give a volunteer a little extra something as a small sign of appreciation for the time and effort that they give to a good cause.

Here are a couple of my favourites. I've probably said this before but it's true: I sometimes wish I had my own personal photographer so that they can take a photo of each and every one of my caricatures so I can look back on them - like reliving the fun!
