Some More Face Painting at the Edmonton RV Expo

I Met some cute kids and sent them off with some fun face painting at the RV Show!

Just so you know,  I didn’t know the Pittsburgh Penguins logo by heart, their mom googled it and showed it to me. The little boy was happy I could do it for him.

For the girl with the swirls on her face, she said to just surprise her. I wanted to compliment her black glasses so I think the black swirls went really nice with her glasses.

Canada Day Face Painting

A fun little kitty. Keeping it simple because of the long line up at CFB Edmonton for Canada Day. Notice the dampness hair on her ... it was a hot and sunny day!

I painted these two lovely ladies near the end of the afternoon. They loved it!

They said that the lady on the left was moving after many year of being stationed at CFB Edmonton. She was going to miss her good friend! Again ... I love swirls, dots and swooshes! They're so delicate and add so much pizzaz

drawing caricatures at the MS Society of Canada BBQ

This week I had the privilege of being invited back to draw caricatures at the MS Society of Canada [Edmonton and Capital Region Chapter] Annual Summer Barbecue (Celebration in the Park) for their client's at Hawrelak Park.  I always see it as a privilege and a compliment to be asked back year after year.  It was a warm night and great to see and draw some familiar people.  It is my hope that one day I won't be invited back to a MS Society picnic because a cure has been found and there'll be no need for such a society.  Till then, I will gladly be a part of their annual picnic...

That evening I drew a couple girls who are here in Canada on a work visa from Japan.  How cool is that?!  Such interesting stories I come upon when I'm doing caricatures.  So glad I could give them a momento of their time in Canada.  They were so nice, wanting me to pose for a photo with them and their caricatures.

Japanese girls caricature

I also drew a group of ladies that went by the name of "The Swizzle Sisters", not sisters, just comrads.  I'm not sure what The Swizzle Sisters do exactly.  Could this possibly be something similar to "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"!?

Another caricature at the BBQ, I remember doing was a gentleman that right at the end, several ladies said, "Please do his, please do his ..."  I have to admit he was a handsome man with a great smile, great features to draw and he was nice to boot!  Found out afterwards that he was the boss.  Good thing I didn't know that ahead of time, I would have been too nervous.  I was tickled pink that the caricature turned out pretty awesome.  There's almost nothing better than hitting a caricature right on the mark, at least in my world anyway.  After an event is over, I often wish that I had a photo of every caricature that has made me smile that day.  If you're ever around watching me do caricatures, you'll see that I often smile during the caricature,  that's me thinking to myself, "Oh I love this one! It's so them! YESSSSSSS!"

Caricatures at a fundraising event and at a company party

These girls were such a blast and talk about cute!

Caricatures at a fundraising event for The Stollery Children’s Hospital at Jox Sports Bar & Grill. These girls were such a blast and talk about cute! When they walked up and said they wanted a caricature, I could hardly contain myself because I could see instantly that they had such pizzaz that it was going to be fun drawing them.

Another good time at a company party! ....

Caricatures at the outdoor swimming pools

I never tire of doing caricatures and I had a wonderful group of people I got to meet and draw at Millcreek Pool’s opening party.

Come visit me and get a caricature at Oliver Pool’s Annual Opening on Saturday, June 18th, 12 - 4 p.m. Caricatures are free with pool admission.  Remember to arrive  early, there’s always a line of people wanting one.  I will be giving out numbers so you can enjoy the rest of the festivities without waiting in line.

Hidden Nature Gems in Edmonton

I recently did some GRAPHIC RECORDING for a Community Recreation Coordinator with The City of Edmonton. The specific topic I was recording was a conversation about “Hidden Nature Gems in Edmonton”, after watching a documentary/movie called “Play Again”. The movie was about the consequences of a childhood removed from nature.
My job was to graphically record the ideas people had in their discussion of the topic. You have to work fast!

visit to Westworld to paint their windows for Christmas

I believe it's my 5th annual visit to Edmonton's Westworld Computer Centre to paint their windows for Christmas.

I put my thinking cap on each year to try and come up with new designs that help promote their products.
