Window Painting for Shoppers Drug Mart

I was in at the Shoppers Drug Mart (7469 101st Ave, Edmonton, AB T6A 3Z5) painting their windows to help advertise their promotion: Your Chance to Win $5,000. if you reduce your tobacco use this year. Their pharmacy is there for your support in kicking the habit. And wouldn’t that be great to win that! These photos were taken from inside the store in the evening.

Christmas Window Painting at St Albert's Farlie Travel

Back again this year at Farlie Travel in St. Albert to do their Christmas window painting. A great group of people that are very welcoming. I definitely enjoy my time there while I’m painting.

In these paintings, specifically the “Merry Christmas” window you can see by the two photos, what my windows look like from both inside and outside. I’ve very proud of how tidy the inside is for the enjoyment of customers who happen to stop in to organise their holiday plans.

Last night I painted my third Tim Hortons restaurant in 3 nights - I am a bit tired now... It was nice weather so that helped, it can get quite cold painting windows near the doors.  I guess I should keep count but I have painted a lot of Santas on Windows.  I try to make each one special and somewhat unique.

When I paint windows I try to make them look good inside and outside.  It takes a bit longer but I hope people like the results.  Making windows a little festive is fun and when the days are short it adds a bit of colour to the restaurant.

Cheers, Laurel

Window Painting for NewWest Travel in Edmonotn

It was great to be back at NewWest Travel for another year of painting their windows for Christmas. Each year I try and come up with new images for their windows that are both travel and Christmas themed. I wonder if I will run out of ideas one year? So which plane ticket of these would YOU choose? Give them a call and choose your own destination!

Why is it that I, all of a sudden, have an urge to go on a holiday? ... It MAY have something to do with hearing the travel agents all day, talking to people over the phone about different holiday spots!

Edmonton Christmas Window Painting

It’s that time of year again! I can’t believe how quickly time goes. It feels like I had just finished the Christmas season and here it is, back again. My first set of Christmas window painting was done at the Edmonton Hotel and Convention Centre at 4520 76 Avenue. Go check it out! You’ll find this pretty sweet looking’ reindeer and SIXTEEN other windows painted! It was quite the full day!

Window Painting Canadian Finals Rodeo for The Westin

I believe this is my 4th year back to paint windows for The Westin Hotel, adding to their CFR lobby decor. They won the competition last year for Best Decorated Hotel and they’re going for it again this year! Mark C. spent the afternoon decorating the lobby while I was painting and he even let me in on a pretty cool added feature to all their CFR stuff. Go to The Westin to check it out, you’ll see it as soon as you walk through their front doors.

CFR is the Canadian Finals Rodeo and is a big deal here in Edmonton. We’ll be seeing a lot of cowboy hats and cowboy boots around the city this week!

Window Painting for Hudsons Edmonton

I was in at 3 Hudsons locations this week painting hockey stuff! “#HudsonsGameDay” and instead of painting hockey sticks and pucks, I thought that my hockey players had a bit more pizzaz!

Quite the work day

Quite the work day I had Thursday: Started off the day at Corus Entertainment till about 4 p.m. then went to the Microsoft Store in West Edmonton Mall and drew caricatures 6 - 9 p.m. I drew some ladies that worked in the mall, families visiting from out of town, couples going to a movie, and some nice young boys who are new to Canada! They boys have been in Canada for 3 months from Argentina. When I asked one of the boys if he liked Canada, instantly he got a smile on his face and said, "OH YES!" It's so nice to hear that he's enjoying his new home! (and it was -20 something outside too!)

My day wasn't finished at that point, oh no.... I dropped my caricature supplies off at home, spent an hour or so chatting with my family and then headed over to finish up at one of the Tim Hortons I had been painting at the night before. Now the 10221-170 Street Tim Hortons is all Laurel'd - Up - Christmas - Style! I think I finished at about 3 a.m. and left with muffins in hand as a nice surprise breakfast treat for my family. Oh, let me clarify that a little ... I just found out that my 17 year old son ate them all. Someone in the house enjoyed them anyway!

yes, when you're self employed you're your own Boss

I was in at the 184 Street & 111 Avenue Tim Hortons West Edmonton location last night painting their windows. When I walked it I could see that they definitely needed some window painting done to make the store a little more festive for the season! Mission accomplished I think since I did this sort of look on all the windows. In the next few days I will also be painting at the 102 Avenue-170 Street and 178 Street & 111 Avenue Tim Hortons locations.

I think I’m nearing the end of my Christmas window painting list!
nearing...
