Dreamnight at the Zoo

Another great young man I met and drew at Dreamnight at the Zoo, a private event for the families that need to use the Stollery Children's Hospital here in Edmonton. It was quite the event with all attractions (including me drawing caricatures) volunteering their time and services. A wonderful evening, well worth time spent. Volunteering warms your heart! I hope you find the time to volunteer too.

Back to Draw at The Radisson Again!

Drawing for more of the staff at The Radisson Hotel in South Edmonton. It's so nice to be asked back and to see many familiar and friendly faces.

It was also a very special day for the staff and one little girl …. Jessie was officially given her wish from the Children's Make A Wish Foundation of a trip to Disneyworld because of the generous donations from staff and clientele at The Radisson Hotel, South Edmonton. Not only that, but they gave her a Disney princess suitcase and other princess treasures. She is one deserving little girl because of her health issues over her 6 years. This summer she became tracheotomy tube free! 

I'm glad Jessie sat down for me to draw her caricature too.

I have donated my time to do caricatures at a Fundraiser that Jessie's mom has put on to benefit The Stollery Children's Hospital here in Edmonton. So when I saw Jessie and her mom and realised how special this day was for her, I was thrilled to be able to be there! And how wonderful it was for the staff to meet the little girl that they fundraised for, making her wish come true. Have fun in Disneyworld Jessie!

Caricatures - Dreamnight at the Zoo

   Once again I drew caricatures at Edmonton Valley Zoo’s private event for families that use the Stollery Children’s Hospital.  I look forward to seeing many families there and am tickled pink when they come and say hello or stand in line to get their annual caricature by me.

Edmonton Valley Zoo has partnered with the Stollery Children’s Hospital to join over 230 zoos, aquariums, and parks worldwide in hosting a fantastic event called Dreamnight at the Zoo for its FIFTH year in a row!  Dreamnight is an international event that began at the Rotterdam Zoo in 1996 with the goal of providing an entirely cost free event for chronically ill and disabled children and their families.  Invited guests will have the opportunity to have up-close animal encounters, make an amazing animal craft, indulge in delicious complimentary beverages and tasty treats, and enjoy fabulous face painting, magic shows, science experiments, caricatures, live music, and a variety of surprises throughout the night.

When they walked up and said they wanted a caricature, I could hardly contain myself because I could see instantly that they had such pizzaz that it was going to be fun drawing them.
