Preschool Face Painting

I was back for a second year face painting for the Glenora Indoor Playground’s year end party. I posted these photos, not because of the actual painting that I did on this little guy’s arm but because he was just so darned sweet! I always feel that when “face painting” for a wee person it’s better to paint on their arm because they can see it happening instead of a paint brush coming at their face. This sweetie stayed completely still and kept his eyes on the whole process. His mom was one of the organisers so while she was cleaning things up at the end of the party, he came over for me to do his other arm. And again he stayed completely still. There are some kids that just melt your heart when you spend those few minutes painting their face or arm. This little guy was one of those.

A soccer ball because he LOVES balls and the other arm got a puppy.

A thank you to his mom for sending me these photos.

Body Painting and face painting at the Edmonton RV Expo

I have now spent two days at the Edmonton RV Expo.  Now I am ready for spring and summer to come.  There are good crowds and people appear to be having a good time looking around.

Face and Body Painting at Christmas Party Edmonton

What do you get when you have a Christmas party and little girls in pretty dresses? …. You get several who want you to paint Elsa from the movie “Frozen”! They were so adorable all together.

Santas, snowmen, snowflakes, Grinch, gingerbread men …. it’s such a nice treat to paint Christmas things instead of the usual stuff.

Face Painting

Face Painting is a pretty cool form of art! You do it and it gets washed off before bed or on some child’s pillow at night! There are some that I do that I’m so pleased with, like this Ninja Turtle, snake and this little blue birdie!

I so LOVE summer, where there are arms and legs to paint on too.

Face Painting at NAIT later today

I will be face painting at NAIT's Drive The Future Expo held at NAIT Central Campus [11762 106 St. Edmonton, AB] The Expo is free 11am-5pm but, I am there noon - 4 PM.  Please stop by and get your face or body painted.  I often paint women's arms and children's faces.  The men are not into face painting as much - they can look at the vehicles and secretly wish they too could have such great art

Please Note: there is some free parking at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) for this event

Face Painting

I love it when adults want to sit down for some face painting! It tells me what kind of person they are, similar to me … I would sit down for it if there were no kids in line. And it’s always surprising to see what they choose to have painted!

Face Painting Fun!

Bring on the swirls and Christmas images!

This lovely Mother/Daughter photo is so sweet! The little girl didn’t want to get her face painted initially so I painted the mom’s face while her daughter sat on her knee and watched. Eventually the little girl was okay with cuddling up close to her mom while I painted a matching image on her. The result is priceless!

The second photo is new fun with rainbows and fabulous swirls. I can’t get enough of swirls on girls.

Oh what fun it is to have a little moving canvas at children’s Christmas parties!

One little boy wanted a snake so I asked him if I could put a Santa hat on him. He came up with the idea of Santa’s beard too. Too funny! He and I enjoyed the process, chatting the whole time. I love painting on arms - more space that tiny little faces. As you can imagine, this little guy loved his snake.

This was the first time I’d done a snowman this way … down the middle of this little boy’s face. I thought it was fun! And how adorable it this little boy?!

Face Painting for Fraser Community League

Fraser Community League (NE Edmonton, Alberta) asked me to face paint for their community event. They had food and lots of games for the kids … as well as me face painting!

This little guy loved his tiger face paint! He would come back every once in awhile to take a look at himself in my hand mirror. I would know each time because he would also growl as he looked at his face! Sure makes you smile when you know that someone likes what you painted for them that much.

They had a group of teenage girls volunteering and right near the end they came over to get some face painting. So they decided they wanted their legs done. I think seeing all of them here is pretty neat. I was glad to be able to do something cool for volunteers.

Grinch Face Painted

I don't post many photos of face painting that I do. Usually because they are mostly kids that I face paint on and I don't think of asking them. But this past weekend I painted a Grinch on a young woman's neck. I generally only like face painting my own art images but The Grinch is such a classic guy and loved by so many boys 7 - 12 years old, that I can't help myself. It was kinda funny at this event when a sweet little girl about 4 years old asked for a Grinch!

FACE PAINTING at company picnic and birthday party.

FACE PAINTING!

On the weekend I was at two events, a company picnic and a birthday party.

This girl’s face looks pretty cool even if I do say so myself! It’s a bit freaky how her nose kind of disappears amongst the blue and white dots. Have you noticed yet that I love swirls and white dots! Can you tell that I had a blast doing it?!

This girl’s arm was fun. She said, “Surprise Me” and so I asked her what kind of things she likes. Yup, she likes dogs. She was really happy with it and so was I. I have it written right on my face painting sign, that if they don’t want to pick from one of the image choices on my board that they can just say, “Surprise Me”. I try and do something different each time. I’ve discovered some new, fun stuff that way and gives my imagination a workout.

facepainting is often bodypainting in the summer

Facepainting in the summer is not just facepainting, it's bodypainting too.... that's why I love summer! I was at Bon Accord Harvest Days annual event when I did this gecko. This lady's favourite colour is orange so she that's what she got. I love painting this guy and there's something to be said for the "dot". The "dot"? See the few dots on this guy, it adds a lot to him and it's just a few tips of the paint brusch. I'll celebrate while the weather is good by painting on arms, legs, backs and ... the occasional face!
